These photographs by Savy Dobbs, The Campus Voice’s staff photographer, were particularly special to me. Three of the photos on the heart-shaped memorial board were students from a town spent my high school years in: Newton, Massachusetts. One in particular, Karen Douglas, was a dear friend of mine. Walks like these are so important for a sense of community among those effected by suicide, whether you’ve survived an attempt, lost someone to suicide, struggle with SI or care for someone who does.
