FSCJ hosted the annual fall Blocktoberfest from Oct. 23-28, a faculty and student-run steamroller printing event. Students and faculty from FSCJ, Jacksonville University, Flagler College and the University of North Florida came together to create unique pieces of art through ink and woodcuts.
Many students look forward to this event, and the incredible variety and talent it offers. “Meeting different artists and seeing all the works was amazing,” said an FSCJ student. Professor Miko, Blocktoberfest supervisor, exclaimed that the best part of Blocktoberfest is student’s expressions after seeing their final pieces. While at the event, spectators could purchase a custom-pressed t-shirt. Tyler Joseph Krasowski, a guest printer, took part in the event by hosting a block carving demonstration, and displaying his work in the South Campus’ art gallery. Students’ compositions will be displayed on various campuses over the next few weeks.
