As the semester comes to a halt and keyboards cool down, I find myself realizing that my time with The Campus Voice and the Converged Communications program is complete. Although graduation and a career are within my grasp, I know that departing from what has become a main component of my life for almost two years is bittersweet. I have gained not only a portfolio of work that will confidently take me to each interview, but more importantly, a group of lifelong friends who pushed me through the difficult times and celebrated the happy times.
The Campus Voice has made numerous transitions over the course of my time as Editor-in-Chief–from print to fully online, and not to mention a committed and determined staff that has moved AP mountains, and shot some unforgettable photos. I want to thank my CV team for their tireless efforts to make this student-run publication the best it can possibly be. Please never forget that it wasn’t you or me who made this paper into what it is today, but all of us as a cohesive unit. We did it!
Last but not least, I want to quote one of my favorite books for this type of circumstance.
You’ll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
You’ll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life’s
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)
KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O’Shea,
You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!
Congratulations to my CV team and the Class of 2015, we did it!
