Peter Story performed his hilarious one-man stand-up comedy show at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts, Terry Theater on June 11, bringing attendees to fits of laughter right from the start, as he entered the stage dancing to Otis Redding’s “Love Man.” For more than an hour and a half, audience members found themselves laughing at his references to “guilt charades” and “surfing” and so much more. “Men are from Mars Women are from Venus Live” makes for a perfect date night.
This is the third time Story has performed “Men are from Mars Women are from Venus Live” in Jacksonville. The show, based on the New York Times best-selling book by John Gray was fast-paced and extended to all areas of relationships–from dating to marriage, and tips for the bedroom. The performance had audience members pointing to each other as they found themselves relating to Peter’s words. “He is so good. Everything he says relates to how couples interact with each other, and that’s what he is trying to do,” said Nancy Barry, audience member.
Couples were still giggling to each other as they exited doors onto the sidewalks. “It was a wonderful show. We really enjoyed the improv and it was so good to be entertained during the entire show,” said attendees Rick and Betty Washburn.
Tickets to future shows can be purchased through the Artist Series.
