FSCJ Joins Jax by Jax Jacksonville Writers Writing Jacksonville

jaxbyjax

WHAT:          Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) faculty and staff are participating in Jax by Jax, Jacksonville Writers Writing Jacksonville, to introduce the city to its very own literary voice. Jax by Jax will feature 24 writers in 12 venues around the intersections of Park and King Street in central Riverside.

Join FSCJ and the community to support some of FSCJ’s very own professors of English, including Tim Gilmore, author of several books, Matthew Lany, novelist and poet, G.M. Palmer, poet,  and H.K. Rainey, poet. FSCJ faculty and staff including Jo Carlisle, Laura Jeffries, Sarah Clark Stuart, Wayne Francis and Liz Murphy Thomas have also assisted in the coordination and execution of Jax by Jax and will be present during the event.

Roam from venue to venue to hear a variety of writers presenting a variety of works from playwrights to poems. Attendees will be able to visit coffeehouses, gift shops and even the offices of Jacksonville Magazine. Book and poetry readings, presentations, short films, talks and more will take place in 20 minute increments each half hour, followed by 10 minutes for chatting and networking.
