Forensic Team Wins First State Championship in FSCJ’s History

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the first time in 25 years, Florida State College at Jacksonville’s (FSCJ) Forensics Team became state champions last weekend. On February 6, 2016, the team came in first place at the FCSAA Forensics State Championship,the state tournament for all community and state colleges in Florida. FSCJ’s South Campus hosted seven schools for the event, including national powerhouse Tallahassee Community College.

Here are the team’s individual placings:

Samantha Radomski:
1st in Duo Interpretation (with Nicki Ercolino)
1st in Prose Interpretation
5th in Persuasive Speaking
5th in Program Oral Interpretation

Saman Jaberi:
1st in Informative Speaking
5th in Poetry Interpretation
3rd in Extemporaneous Speaking
3rd in After Dinner Speaking
6th in Impromptu Speaking

Adonis Lane:
1st in Persuasive Speaking
2nd in Impromptu Speaking
2nd in Prose Interpretation
4th in Duo Interpretation (with Kristen Karlik)

Jimmy Henson:
1st in Poetry Interpretation
1st in After Dinner Speaking
5th in Duo Interpretation (with CJ Andrews)

CJ Andrews:
4th in Impromptu Speaking
2nd in Persuasive Speaking
2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking
5th in Duo Interpretation (with Jimmy Henson)
6th in Informative Speaking

Nicki Ercolino:
1st in Duo Interpretation (with Samantha Radomski)
2nd in Poetry Interpretation

Madeline Windsor:
3rd in Poetry Interpretation
4th in Communication Analysis
6th in Dramatic Interpretation

Kristen Karlik:
5th in Dramatic Interpretation
4th in Duo Interpretation (with Adonis Lane)
5th in Prose Interpretation

Chris Carlson:
4th in Persuasive Speaking
3rd in Program Oral Interpretation

Jameek Barnes:
4th in Program Oral Interpretation
4th in Poetry Interpretation

Julian Lopez:
3rd in Communication Analysis
6th in Prose Interpretation
7th in Informative Speaking

Angi Barnard:
2nd in After Dinner Speaking
4th in Lincoln-Douglas Debate
6th in Extemporaneous Speaking

Saman Jaberi was named the fourth best speaker in the state, Adonis Lane was named the third best in the state and CJ Andrews was named the top novice at the tournament.
