Bridging the Divide

An in-depth look at the disparities across our community.

Florida State College at Jacksonville has partnered with the Rashean Mathis Foundation and Campus Compact’s Fund for Positive Engagement to launch Bridging the Divide, a new initiative designed to explore the varying issues and challenges that create division and conflict throughout our community. As part of this project, FSCJ students will engage in extensive research to examine the health, education, criminal justice and socioeconomic disparities faced by Jacksonville’s four quadrants – Northside, Southside, Eastside and Westside. Through collaboration with peers and faculty, students will work alongside community members to develop solutions that strengthen and unite all of Jacksonville.
